A stunning showcase of high-Victorian luxury and architectural elegance. This antique 19th-century cast iron fireplace assembly rescued from an Asheville NC estate is an exceptional find for historic restorations and curated interior spaces. The premium two-piece set features an incredibly detailed, fluted column mantel surround frame and its perfectly fitted matching inner decorative summer grate front, both beautifully refinished in a uniform, crisp satin black.
Design Elements & Architectural Details
The Ornate Mantel Surround Frame: A masterclass in classical Victorian design. The vertical jambs are styled as elegant fluted columns accented with central wrapped ribbon/bow motifs and topped by beautifully cast Corinthian-style capitals. The top horizontal frieze features an incredibly dense, deeply cast high-relief panel of cascading botanical scrollwork and floral vines.
The Integrated Grate Front: Fits seamlessly into the inner arched cavity of the frame. This heavy decorative piece features structural horizontal ventilation bars anchored by an ornate lower skirt panel detailing low-relief floral vines that perfectly echo the artistry of the upper frieze.
