The brilliant lampshades graduating glass ball ribs elegantly radiating outward from the Brass central suspension frame creates a truly exceptional design when illuminated that looks like strings of tiny lights all throughout from just a small 15W bulb! Originally this style lamp was designed as a Kerosene lit Hurricane lamp judging by the form of the Victorian styled base, and would make perfect sense with the magnificent radiating quality of the numerous glass balls from a small light source. This appears to be an originally updated late 20th century version after the advent of electricity and is an extremely unique style, matched with its complete original fine condition it just does not get any better.! This impressive lamp is in exceptional original condition, completely intact and fully functional. The heavy duty Brass ribbed graduating glass ball shade is without issue and appears to be complete (although one rib looks short one tiniest ball, production error?), the balls are all strung together with metal wire so one could go through each strand and straighten them by hand to perfection if desired. Just mild finish wear to the overall Marble body with natural tarnish patina to the Brass hardware with no obvious signs of damage or repair issues. Original socket (standard size screw in style but appliance size bulb due to shape) has been inspected, tested and appears clean and safe, the power cord has been replaced with rayon wrapped insulated wire with an inline power control switch. DIMENSIONS: The lamp is of moderate size and HEAVY at 10 lbs with general dimensions of 19" tall with an overall width of 5" to the base, the shade is 10" in diameter X 5" high…filament bulb IS included for reference.
