Circular Italian carved wood sunburst mirror with polychromed and gilt surface decoration, produced in the early 20th century in a Neoclassical revival mode. The frame is organized in concentric radial bands of carved ornament centered by a flat circular mirror plate.

The composition is structured as a formalized sunburst, though rendered through a dense and highly ordered ornamental program rather than projecting rays. Repeating lobed, lanceolate, and beaded motifs radiate outward in concentric registers, creating a symmetrical composition consistent with Neoclassical decorative principles. The carved surface is finished in parcel gilt over a polychromed ground in dark red and black, with inset mirrored glass elements integrated throughout the surround. These inset plates show oxidation and surface depletion consistent with age.

The form relates to early 20th-century Italian decorative production drawing on 18th-century Neoclassical precedent, particularly in its controlled symmetry, repeated classical ornament, and disciplined radial geometry. While categorized as a sunburst mirror, the emphasis is less on dramatic projection and more on patterned relief and radial structure.
