Striking hand-carved wood wall sculpture by Santa Fe artist Charles Greeley, dated 1986. This large-scale decorative piece features an intricate interwoven knot motif with bold geometric patterning and vibrant Southwestern-inspired colors including turquoise, black, red, white, and blue.
Expertly cut and layered from wood, the sculpture creates dramatic depth and shadow when displayed on the wall. Mounted brackets on the reverse allow the piece to float slightly off the wall when hung, enhancing its dimensional sculptural effect and presence.
The combination of Celtic-inspired knotwork and tribal geometric detailing gives the work a distinctive postmodern Southwest aesthetic reminiscent of 1980s Santa Fe art and design. Signed “Greeley” and dated “86” in the center of the composition.
