It's an extra exceptional presentation of beauty, craftsmanship, uniqueness, and age obtained patina. It's shockingly good. A brilliant primitive Americana piece of wood furniture.

It's a 7 drawer apothecary cabinet/chest that was hand made in the mid-late 19th Century for utilitarian use. And though it's unapologetically simple yet it's proportionally delightful, elegantly laid, and the colors seem to have been chosen and balanced by a master artist. And not only are the pomegranate and green colors joyful in and of themselves, but what happened to the paint over the years have given them a most unique character and depth. It seems time, air and acidity? caused them to bubble and protrude... taking them from a flat surface to a more textured one. At first we thought it was hammered metal tin, but to our surprise it's the actual paint. It's, again, shockingly good.

Let's also have you focus on the sides of the the cabinet. The crackling paint there is a whole other tale of its own. And the back is what we always love: simple old planks of wood, as if a pallet cleanser. And the simple raised platform on the bottom just adds to the charm of the whole piece. Every way you turn this thing there's something to enjoy about it. And did you see that bottom drawer opened?
