This is an American Victorian-era adjustable swivel piano chair, crafted from solid quarter-sawn oak circa 1890–1910.
Spindle-Back Rest: Unlike standard backless piano stools, this features a supportive, gently curved high-back crest rail accented by elegant, turned wooden spindles.
Swivel & Height Mechanism: The round solid oak seat has a pronounced bullnose edge and connects to a heavy, threaded iron center post hidden within the base. Rotating the seat allows the player to raise or lower the height to a comfortable position.
Ornate Base: The seat rests on a robust, central pedestal column supported by four distinctively turned, splayed legs bound together by cross-stretchers for maximum stability.
Claw-and-Ball Feet: A signature detail of late 19th-century craftsmanship, each leg terminates in decorative eagle claws grasping a round wooden ball.
