The scene depicts the interior of a dilapidated barn and shows a mid size white hunting dog with black spots barking at a couple roosters. in the foreground is a hen and chicks feeding. The muted palet of earthtones isindictitive of the French Barbizon school of painting.Or It could be from the Belgians who specialized in farmyard scenes.Contrary to this information, I was told the painting is English. It is signed in the upper left corner. Ch.? Alberly ? I did some research and could not find information for this name. I will continue to research and update the listing when i find more information. The frame appears to be the original giltwood frame. It has wide beveled edges with an ornate leaf design on the inner fillet. The frame has some significant signs of wear where the gold is chipping off. See less
