A classic bouillotte lamp rendered in warm brass, distinguished by its clean, tailored black tole shade. The form traces back to 18th-century French card table lighting, yet this mid-century example feels especially versatile—refined without being precious.
The adjustable shade, anchored by a decorative arrow finial, allows for a controlled, intimate glow. The contrast of aged brass against the matte black tole gives it a quiet authority—equally suited to a study, a library console, or layered into a more relaxed coastal interior.
It’s the kind of piece that brings structure to a vignette: grounding books, balancing symmetry, and adding just enough historical reference without feeling staged.
