An 18th-century Emilian chest of drawers, with two gently contoured drawers and entirely veneered in walnut, walnut burl, and thuja, … Read more An 18th-century Emilian chest of drawers, with two gently contoured drawers and entirely veneered in walnut, walnut burl, and thuja, and finely decorated with fruitwood, ebony, and boxwood inlays.

In this masterpiece of Emilian cabinetmaking in the Louis XV style, the front is punctuated by two large drawers centered by geometric thuja burl inserts. These drawers feature three asymmetrical walnut burl inserts, defined by double ebony and boxwood trim.

This antique Emilian commode dates back to the second half of the 18th century. It is well-proportioned, with the top and sides also featuring geometric inlays, while the lower front molding follows a mixtilinear profile that connects to the curved line of the feet.

The piece was in fair condition (it had already been restored in the past). It was restored by our workshop and polished with shellac. See less
