A cast iron safe, manufactured by The Reliable Safe & Lock Co. of Covington, Kentucky, dating to approximately 1890. The front door is prominently inscribed with "THE RELIABLE SAFE & LOCK CO. INC. COVINGTON, KY." and features a functional combination dial. Below the dial, "HYMAN M. COHEN, AGENT. ROCHESTER, N.Y." is painted, identifying a regional agent. The top surface of the safe is adorned with the painted inscription "Warren Hats," indicating its original commercial context or ownership. This late 19th-century piece stands on four original cast iron feet, each fitted with casters for mobility. The safe features a dark painted finish with contrasting gold-colored pinstriping around the door, characteristic of the era's decorative industrial design.
