This is a gorgeous and intricately carved antique lectern that would make a beautiful addition to a book collector's library, a fine dining establishment, a live performance space, or simply to display a favorite transcript. It is substantial in weight and presence with a leather padded top that is hinged to reveal storage underneath. The hinged top appears to have been added after the piece was made but at least 100 years ago. If removed, it would reveal a flat surface. The top allows for space on either side for notes, writing implements, etc... There is enough space to store a laptop underneath the top.
It does not appear to have had any restoration work and can be used in its current condition or after a light refresh.
