Vintage Danish pottery pair by Hjorth of Bornholm, Models 85 & 71 (c. 1927-1940), featuring complementary hand-decorated fruit and floral motifs in soft muted tones of blue, ochre, plum, and sage.
The set includes:
one rounded vase with narrowed neck
One cachepot / planter
Both retain impressed Hjorth Bornholm marks to the underside along with individual form numbers. The decoration combines stylized Scandinavian folk and studio pottery influences with a calm, architectural palette characteristic of mid-century Danish ceramics.
Beautiful displayed together as a collected pair, though each piece also stands well independently. Particularly lovely for shelf styling, open shelving, Scandinavian interiors, organic modern spaces, or layered European-inspired rooms.
Produced between 1927 and 1940, both pieces feature the studio’s signature, velvety matte terracotta finish and are beautifully hand-painted with vibrant fruit garlands (pears, grapes, plums) and stylized geometric leaf borders.
The matte surface and restrained palette give the pair a warm, quietly graphic presence that works beautifully alongside teak, oak, linen, and natural textures.
