This Paul Klee rare vintage 1955 first edition Modernist lithograph print " Red Waistcoat " 1938, is a very special and unique piece to add to your collection.
Paul Klee ( 1879 - 1940 ) The Swiss born artist is attributed to creating some of the most original and colorful paintings of The Twentieth Century. Klee was an educator at the famous Bauhaus School in Germany. His work reflects the styles and ideas of Symbolism, Expressionism, Cubism, ad well the simplicity of The Bauhaus designs. Art works by Klee are included the collection's of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
The Modernist lithograph print is a page from an authentic vintage 1st edition artists publication printed in Japan in 1955, published by Harry N. Abrams inc., New York. The lithograph print plate image is attached to the page with a method called " tipping " where it is attached by hand to the page on the top and left side edge. the title and date of the original artwork is printed on the reverse back side of the page. This print is suitable for framing.
The rare out of print lithograph print image measures 6 1/8" w X 9 1/2" H, on a page that is 8 1/8" W X 11 1/2" H. It is in excellent vintage condition with very light signs of handling. It has never been framed. Please see photos for condition reference. It is now being offered here for an excellent price.
