Maralunga three-seat sofa designed by Vico Magistretti for Cassina.
This model is known for its adjustable backrests. At first it looks low and relaxed, but each back can be lifted to give proper head and neck support. The mechanism works internally and feels simple to use.
The sofa has a soft, slightly rounded shape without sharp edges, which gives it a more relaxed look compared to more rigid designs from the same period. This example also has foldable armrests, which adds some flexibility in how it can be used.
It’s upholstered in black fabric and sits on wooden feet. The proportions are generous but still easy to place in a room.
