Rich in heraldic detail and aristocratic symbolism, the engraving is inscribed “Bennet Earl of Tankerville” along with the family motto, “DE BON VOULOIR SERVIR LE ROI” (“To Serve the King with Good Will”).

We have encountered similar English peerage engravings described as from Alexander Jacob’s A Complete English Peerage (d. 1785), the celebrated London publication documenting the genealogy and history of the peers of the realm. This is an authentic antique print, not a modern reproduction.
