Small pedestal tables like this were made throughout the Victorian era as candle stands and occasional side tables, pulled up beside a chair to hold a lamp, a book, or a cup.

The circular top is raised on a turned baluster pedestal with vase, ball and ring turnings, standing on three downswept cabriole legs, with a turned drop finial to the centre of the base. The top secured to the pedestal by a shaped cleat to the underside.

Solid mahogany of warm, mellow colour with good aged patina throughout. See less
