A striking Korean Bandaji-style cabinet, distinguished by richly figured wood panels, dramatic traditional brass hardware, and exceptional provenance from the estate of Senator Dianne Feinstein (1933–2023) and Richard C. Blum (1935–2022).
Executed in the traditional Korean aesthetic, this cabinet features beautifully contrasting warm-toned wood framed in darker stained timber, accented throughout with decorative brass mounts, hinges, and circular medallion hardware evocative of historic Korean furniture forms. Four upper drawers provide practical organization, while the paneled cabinet doors open to reveal generous interior storage.
Inspired by the form of traditional Korean Bandaji chests and cabinetry, the piece balances sculptural visual interest with practical utility—equally compelling as an entry cabinet, bar cabinet, media concealment piece, dining room storage cabinet, or statement accent in a collected interior.
Its warm patina and architectural hardware lend the cabinet an authenticity and character that designers increasingly seek when layering contemporary interiors with worldly, collected furnishings. The scale is especially versatile, substantial enough to anchor a room while remaining easy to place.
Adding further significance is its distinguished provenance from the celebrated collection of Senator Dianne Feinstein and financier Richard Blum, offering an uncommon opportunity to acquire a decorative object from one of America’s most recognized political households.
A beautifully layered and highly usable piece—historically grounded yet remarkably current in feel.
