It was purchased at an … Read more This is an unusual and beautiful antique English corner washstand or cabinet, dated circa 1880. It was purchased at an antique store called The Outpost in Middleburg, VA. It would be a great storage piece for a bathroom or dining room, or even a small entry way or foyer.

The bowfront stand is made of solid wood with beautiful golden satinwood veneer inlaid with banding of exquisite quality. The single paneled door opens to reveal a spacious storage space with a single shelf and holes in the back for ventilation. The stand is topped with a white marble top with a marble gallery and is mounted on wooden caster wheels.

The cabinet measures 21” wide, 21” deep, and 32.5” tall to the top of the gallery. The table height is 31 inches, and the hypotenuse of the corner is also 31 inches.

The cabinet is in very good antique condition. It shows well with beautifully colored veneer and intact inlay. There is some veneer loss on the cabinet directly under the marble top. Minor scattered scratches and wear. Marble top has some age related staining, scratches, and chipped corners. Please see photos for more details about the condition of the washstand. See less
