This 1960s freestanding bookcase is reminiscent of the Hylla type, a modular system popular in Northern European production and also made famous by the String brand, designed by Nisse and Kajsa Strinning in the late 1940s. The painted iron frame supports height-adjustable teak shelves. The modular design allows for flexible configuration, while the contrast between metal and wood creates a visual balance typical of Northern European production of the period. The lower section features an integrated wire magazine rack, a functional element that expands its usability without weighing down the structure.
