Large antique French stoneware confit or preserving pot dating from the early 20th century.
Crafted in traditional glazed sandstone pottery with warm honey and ochre tones, this substantial rustic vessel features twin side handles, a beautifully ribbed collar and its original fitted lid — a detail often missing on surviving examples.
Originally used in French country kitchens for preserving foods and storing confit, the piece now works beautifully as decorative farmhouse kitchenware, a statement vessel, or rustic interior accent. Its authentic patina and softly aged glaze give it the timeless character highly sought after in modern European and American interiors.
A wonderful example of traditional French provincial pottery with a simple, honest form and warm natural colour palette.
