Model C140 “Playboy” armchair designed by Jens Risom circa 1960s. One of Risom’s most celebrated lounge chair designs, the C140 exemplifies the clean lines, organic materials, and relaxed sophistication that helped define early American mid-century modernism.

This exceptional example retains its original mustard tweed upholstery, offering rich texture and warm tonal character that pairs beautifully with the sculptural walnut frame. The upholstery has been professionally steam cleaned and presents very well overall, while the walnut frame remains in excellent condition with a beautifully preserved finish and crisp lines throughout.

Comfortable and visually refined, the chair features Risom’s signature understated elegance with gently angled proportions and expertly crafted walnut construction. Very good vintage condition. Original mustard tweed upholstery has been professionally steam cleaned and shows only minor age-appropriate wear. Walnut frame is in excellent condition with a clean, well-preserved finish. All joinery is sound and secure.
