Lady In A Hat - original oil on canvas circa 2000s.
A simple and elegant original painting - evocative and well-executed, without trying to hard to earn your attention or make a statement.
Square dimensions - 14" x 14" x 1.5" deep - unframed but on a strong and sure stretcher.
Artist signed and dated in the lower right corner.
Tiffany blue, fuchsia pink re, white, grey, and silver. The subject is the story, not the artist.
In keeping with Aesop's fable, Fox and Crow's Motto is "Beware of False Flattery!" So, with each listing we offer a true confession about the item...
This is a fantastic tribute to a fabulous lady. Only a beautiful mouth and beautifully posed hands tell the story of a classic beauty, and the flair she brought to the artist who painted her.
The artistry here is simple, almost folk or minimalist, but the outlines, shape and use of color portray something more.
Aubrey Hepburn? Anne Bancroft? Isabella Rossellini? You decide...
