It was on display in a small local museum around the St Louis area for many years. When they shut their doors, the items were auctioned off and I purchased this second hand just this year (2026), specifically to add to my online store. It’s no longer legal to collect coral specimen, due to their new endangered species title, however this little guy was collected many decades ago, location unknown, for scientific research and museum display purposes. You can rest easy knowing he came from a time when coral flourished in our oceans.
I was just amazed by this piece, perfectly preserved in its natural beauty. You can see vividly the red colors on the stems and the intricate lines of the corals living form. It’s in absolutely perfect condition, considering how long it’s been out of the water and on display here in Missouri.
Such a cool find! He is sure to bring joy and nautical pleasure whenever you place him in your space :) See less
