This acrylic on canvas board is signed on the lower right. Colorful abstract images incorporate faces, in the manner of Jackson Pollack, framed.
Carole S. Roberts, born 1940, is an abstract expressionist artist and jeweler. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The Ohio State University and a Masters of Fine Arts from Dowling College (NY). Roberts was an art teacher in the East Islip School District on Long Island in the 1960s. Roberts worked at The Museums at Stony Brook (NY) and was a featured weekly editorial cartoonist for The Village Times newspaper on Long Island, NY. Roberts illustrated numerous textbooks for both MIT and Rutgers University professors, which are still used today. Roberts has had art exhibitions at SUNY Stony Brook Staller Center, as well as participating in the Gallery North summer art shows on Long Island. Roberts has worked in a number of genres, including oil painting, welding, mixed media, plexiglass, collage, pen & ink and silver jewelry.
