Unusual little Mexican cocoa cup that appears to have once been part of a museum collection. I bought this along with two 19th century Peruvian ritual pieces at the same time. All catalog numbered. I’m guessing that this is late 19th to early 20th century as well based on its style, however I couldn’t find anything with a little handle like this! Possibly from Tonala, Jalisco (based on motif/style) likely for the souvenir/travel trade after Mexico gained its Independence from Spain in 1821.
Measurements:
Almost 3” tall, 2.5” wide at handle, 1.75 at lip.
