19th C. Style Federal Style Toleware Serving Bowl Tray
Paint decorated metal / tin with stenciled fruit basket motifs on a vivid, deep red ground with old gold gilt and green accents.
Nice crackle glaze finish - subtle and does not detract.
Evokes images of oranges, lemons and tomatoes, with leaves filling a classically formed bowl.
12.75" by 9.25" by 2.25", with a scalloped edge and significant curvature both longitudinally and horizontally.
Fitted with a high-grade wall hanging device - showing this was a treasure, not a widely-used item of table ware.
