This Qajar-style Kulah Khud is a traditional Persian helmet, featuring a steel hemispherical bowl, top spike, plume holders, and chainmail aventail. “Qajar” refers to the dynasty that ruled Persia from 1789–1925. Widely used in Persia and North India, the helmet displays a feline face with horns, representing a demon or "div". It has a sliding nasal guard and chainmail neck protection. By the 19th and early 20th centuries, such helmets became more ceremonial and decorative, often adorned with floral gold inlay on the back. Measuring 9" in diameter and 18" in height, this helmet reflects standard dimensions of the era. Helmets with demonic imagery were linked to the legendary hero Rustam.
