The italian designer is one of the most influential figures in modern plastics and industrial design, and created numerous iconic designs for kartell that uniquely combine functionality, industrial manufacturing, and sculptural form. The ensemble impresses with its clear geometric design language and the characteristic combination of black lacquered surfaces and white-coated tubular frames. The conical connecting elements between the frame and the tabletop or seat are particularly striking, lending the set an architectural and almost futuristic feel. The minimalist lines, strong contrasts, and use of industrial materials reflect typical italian postmodernism of the 1980s and are reminiscent of the memphis movement aesthetic. The polo stools perfectly complement the standing table and consistently echo its design. With their integrated handles and surrounding foot rings, the stools appear both functional and playful.
