The fold-open front reveals an organized writing and correspondence station complete with a built-in perpetual calendar displaying the day, date, and month through rotating indicators.

This piece showcases classic late Victorian craftsmanship with warm oak tones, brass hardware, and a practical slant-front design that closes neatly into a compact desktop form. Inside the lid is a handwritten period note adding a wonderful layer of personal history and charm. The interior compartments would have originally been used for sorting letters, bills, documents, and writing materials.
An additional charming detail of this piece is the removable handwritten memo board tucked inside the lid.
