Moldovan became Winestein circa 1915 when they arrived in the US. The Jewish/Russian immigrant to the Lower East Side became quite accomplished, and many of his artworks have appeared in auctions everywhere. Sacha Moldovan, aka Sol Winestein, Russian American, 1901- 1982. This lead pencil on drawing paper dates to the Russian period, with a modern art frame and protective glass.
