The ceramic body features … Read more This striking vintage sculptural ceramic table lamp was produced in the later mid-20th century, circa 1960s. The ceramic body features deeply dimensional arabesque and abstract linear motifs in warm terracotta and dark brown (almost black) tones, creating a richly textured, sculptural presence. It has incredible visual depth and reads almost like hand-carved wood at first glance, while retaining the weight and presence of ceramic. The lamp sits on a solid wood base and is paired with an exceptional rope-wrapped shade that adds organic texture and warmth. The rope shade is unmarked but is exceptionally well made, with substantial weight and tight, even wrapping throughout. It presents as a very high-quality piece and complements the base beautifully. The combination of ceramic, wood, and rope gives this piece a strong Organic Modern vibe, with an earthy, almost tribal or indigenous-inspired visual language in the patterning.
