Distinct and elaborate vintage malachite ring (circa 1970s) crafted in 14 karat yellow gold.
Malachite measures 23.5mm x 6.5mm. The malachite is in very good condition and free of cracks or chips.
The beautifully crafted ring highlights a rich green malachite stone carved into a high dome and set within an elaborate mount. Brutalist jewelry emerged in the 1960s and 1970s when rough textures and raw sculptural designs became popular. Brutalist jewelry embraced spontaneity, often resembling miniature works of abstract art. The ring is large in scale and has a great presence on the hand. Unconventional and unique, the ring captures the spirit of 70s era design. The high-rise ring (13mm - 0.51 inches) sits comfortably on the finger.
