Crafted in a deep lustrous, cobalt blue porcelain, the jar features a vibrant hand-decorated scene of a golden peacock admist a lush garden of pink peonies and white cherry blossoms. The intricate design is highlighted by rick gold gilt accents throughout, adding a touch of Hollywood Regency glamour to a classic Chinoiserie form.
This piece retains its original "Made in Japan" foil sticker on the base. It is a beautiful example of late 20th century Japanese export porcelain, perfect as a standalone statement piece or as a part of a collection of blue and white decor.
