Could be used as an indoor kitchen or dining table as well as an outdoor patio table as originally intended. The simple geometric form of the table base, with modified hairpin legs, and the X-cross bracing are ideal for more minimal settings. I especially like the square profile used in all the iron work. This is the perfect set to conjure up a Palm Springs California Modernism environment, no matter where you call home!

The set was purchased by my aunt in the 1950s, and she used it only indoors for decades as her dining table. I find this quote from John Salterini about his pieces to be very interesting, "It’s the decorative trend, using wrought iron furniture indoors because it brings into your home the freshness and gaiety of a flowery summer garden.” I think she liked this as her dining table indoors because she had a smallish studio apartment in a high-rise building, and the glass top and general airy feeling of the set would have made her space seem larger.

The 3/8"+ thick clear glass top is original to the table, with micro-beveled edges and in very nice shape with only minor surface scratches from age and use and one tiny fleabite on an underside edge, only found on close inspection. The glass is clear glass, no tint. New upholstery is recommended for the chairs, as they have been stored outdoors on a covered screen porch, but were not done in an outdoor fabric. The pale greenish tan painted finish has become chippy over the years exhibits age appropriate wear that exposes an earlier layer of turquoise blue, but also some bare metal surface in spots. Could either be sealed as is for a more timeworn appeal, or completely restored with new bright paint and/or powdercoating in any color of your choice.
