This substantial piece features excellent provenance, with a clear © 97 Brookwood signature low on one side and production information incised on the base.

The craftsmanship is superb, featuring detailed, naturalistic feather textures on folded wings and an elegant arched neck. Over the last several decades, the neutral off-white stone has developed an authentic, deeply desirable weathered patina. The interior is hollowed, making it an ideal vessel for seasonal plantings or a sophisticated standalone sculpture.

The Brookwood Community is a well-known non-profit educational and residential facility for adults with functional disabilities. They have a long history of high standards, hand-finishing their own cast stone / concrete garden statuary, fountains, and planters on-site. The Brookwood Gift & Garden Center is part of the Brookwood Community.
