This abstract painting features streaking brushwork, in muted shades of blue, brown and green, divided into sections. In a black frame, this piece is signed and dated to the lower left.

Born in Palo Alto, California in 1955, Charles Cajori studied art at the Colorado Springs Art Center as well as the Cleveland Art School before being drafted into the U.S. Air Force in 1942. After he was discharged, he attended Columbia University, where he met Jack Heliker. Since the 1950s, his work has been shown in galleries and collections across the country, including the Whitney Museum, the Tanager Gallery, and the Corcoran Gallery of Art. He went on to found the New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting, Sculpting in 1964. He is regarded as an important figure in the second generation of Abstract Expressionists. See less
