A vintage Modernist wood fired stoneware vase with a tall cylindrical neck and rounded base. The surface has sections of grey and brown tonalities, with areas of ash deposition and glaze drips resulting from the unpredictability of the wood-firing process. This firing method, valued in both Japanese and Western studio pottery traditions, produces unique surface variations from the flame, heat, and ash within the kiln. Unsigned. In good condition with wear consistent with age. No signature found.
