This Kano school painting was probably originally part of a floor screen. The central hawk is so confidently rendered on a simple branch out crop. The watercolor is executed on paper that was probably mounted on this panel in the early 20th century. Really just a beautiful thing.

Condition: Heavy surface wear including some tears and scratches with some water stains, old repairs. Was probably originally part of a floor screen.
