Max Jacob Schacknow 1987 Pencil on Canvas Drawing in Gilt Frame, 22” x 25”
Description:
Original 1987 pencil on canvas drawing by artist and philanthropist Max Jacob Schacknow, presented in an ornate vintage gilt frame. Signed and dated on the reverse. Executed in graphite on stretched canvas, this striking composition features the back of a shaved head marked with a single red lipstick print — understated, surreal, and visually memorable.
By the 1980s, Schacknow had largely moved away from oil painting and became known for his highly detailed pencil-on-canvas works created using simple #2 pencils. Over his lifetime he produced more than 2,000 original works, most intended for exhibition rather than commercial sale.
Schacknow was also the founder of the Schacknow Museum of Fine Arts in Plantation, Florida, reflecting his lifelong dedication to the arts and philanthropy.
Presented in a substantial gilt frame with vintage character and age-appropriate wear.
