The face is subtly rendered with fine eye lines and a small red nose/mouth detail. The kimono is delicately decorated with red and white ume blossoms, set against the warm natural tone of the wood.

Dimensions: height 31 cm, diameter 9 cm.

The underside bears a red hanko label. Near the lower side of the body, there is also an Usaburo signature and an original sticker label. The text on this label refers to the “All Japan Kokeshi Competition” and states that Usaburo Kokeshi received an award from the Director-General of Japan’s Small and Medium Enterprise Agency.
