Black painted framed wood with gold lettering and a lovely red star in the middle. We really love the whimsical font used! Metal brackets on the back that held it to whatever it was held to, back in the time. Was this part of a traveling laundry wagon? The hinges might speak to that... But then looking at the diamond marks left on the back we think this might have attached to a fence? The laundry mystery thickens. The condition is consistent to age and wear but it's in overall wonderful condition still. Please see all photos.

Now, if you have a serious sign collection this would be a great addition. Or this would look great in a laundry room as an authentic original decor. This would also be great in a retail setting for clothe and such... It's the kind of thing Ralph Lauren would acquire.

Circa: early 20th Century to be safe, but possibly earlier.
