This painting depicts a fishing village scene, created in the style of Carl Ebert (1885). It is signed by the artist Peter Tortomasi and dated 1965. The artwork is executed in oil on board.
The frame is stamped "HOLLAND" and features a beautifully detailed and highly carved French Regency wooden design.
It appears to be a student copy of an original oil painting titled "Southern Fishing Village," which was created by Carl Ebert (1821-1885), a German landscape painter who studied at the Royal Art School in Stuttgart. This original work dates back to approximately 1885 and is known for its exceptional atmospheric quality.
