This is a 12’´ tall, classic Cobalt Blue, called « Ritz Blue », American made Vase from the turn of the 18th to the 19th Century.
This is a stunning piece that suits any environment from a cabin in the woods to an elegant home or apartment in any city or anywhere in between. This had graced my past memories for many years. It is now time to grace yours and be a part of your collections with any arrangement from casual to formal in all seasons.
To identify Pairpoint glass, look for signature "bubble balls" (controlled air bubbles) in stems, high-quality polished pontils on the base, and fire-polished edges rather than ground edges
Signatures: With one primary exception, Pairpoint did not sign their glass.
Mt Washington Glass Company merged with Pairpoint Manufacturing in 1894, each company retaining its own identity. In 1900, the combined company was renamed the Pairpoint Corporation.
In 1910, the company began the manufacture of a spherical knob (bubble ball) glass that was used in bookends, bowls, candlesticks, door knobs, and vases.
