Originally conceived as part of a modular system, this particular example features a generous rectangular top, ideal for use as a dining or conference table, comfortably seating up to 10 people depending on their size. The table stands on cast aluminium legs with adjustable feet, designed to compensate for uneven flooring. These are connected by a solid steel stretcher, finished in black, creating a striking contrast with the light-toned metal legs. The engineering and attention to detail in the construction reflect the modernist values and refined aesthetic typical of Fabricius and Kastholm’s work. The tabletop is finished in a stunning hardwood veneer, showcasing rich brown tones and distinctive dark veining. hardwood was a popular and luxurious material in the 1960s and 70s, valued for its deep color and bold grain. Today, it is a rare and increasingly difficult wood to source, adding to the table’s exclusivity and charm. This piece remains in good condition overall. The aluminium legs show minimal wear consistent with age and use, while the hardwood top has been professionally refinished and presents beautifully. There are a few small, discreet repairs to the corners, as shown in the photos. The Kastholm chairs visible in the last images are not included in this listing but are available for purchase separately. This piece has been fully refinished with a high-quality UV protection lacquer, which not only preserves the wood’s natural beauty but also ensures its durability. This careful refinishing process maintains the table’s authenticity while providing an additional layer of protection against wear and environmental factors.
