The design reflects the transition from late Art Deco towards early modernism, combining deep black lacquered wood with original black marble tops and refined brass details.

Each nightstand is topped with a substantial piece of original black marble, featuring distinctive natural veining and tonal variation. The marble is complemented by preserved brass drawer pulls, escutcheons and hardware, adding a subtle yet elegant contrast to the dark lacquered finish.

The cabinets have been carefully refinished in a deep black tone while retaining their original character and period details. Both nightstands provide practical storage with one drawer and an enclosed cabinet compartment. The interiors retain their warm natural wood finish, creating an attractive contrast with the black exterior.

The backs retain their original solid-wood construction and traditional joinery, with visible construction details characteristic of period furniture making. Minor signs of age and use remain, contributing to the authentic patina of these vintage pieces.
