Firm but comfortable seats are presently upholstered in a gorgeous striped material of alternating gold and ivory bands over a natural filling (probably horse hair). At roughly chair height, these could be placed anywhere in the home for extra seating or footstools. Around the apron of the seat is a line of gilded molding punctuated by gilded rosettes at the corners. Tapering feet carved with a foliate theme on the upper half narrow toward the floor with fluted carvings that have been accented in gilt.
