Described in ancient Chinese texts as the moon dyed with spring water, celadon ceramics are prized for their well-proportioned forms and luminous blue-green glazes.
This vintage celadon vase has a classic phoenix-tail silhouette, defined by its wide shoulders, narrowed neck and flared lip. The neck is flanked by two decorative handles molded in the shape or archaistic dragons. The vase is finished with a monochrome glaze of pale, olive-green color and matte texture, an ashen tone somewhere in between longquan celadon and teadust glaze.
