Exceptional hand-carved wooden sculpture from West Africa, circa 1970 (mid-century), composed of an impressive composition of approximately 20 to 25 human figures.

The sculpture depicts a dynamic community scene, in which the figures are positioned around and above one another. This form of ‘narrative carving’ is known for portraying family, community, and tradition.

Carved all around with a strong vertical structure and a powerful, expressive appearance. Dimensions: approx. 34 cm high × 13 cm wide
