Decorative late 19th century patinated bronze inkwell executed in the Italian Renaissance taste.
The central lidded vessel is supported by three finely cast winged figures terminating in claw feet, while the lid is crowned by a sculptural Marzocco lion standing upright and holding a shield — the historic emblem associated with Florence.
The naturally aged bronze patina enhances the sculptural detail and gives the piece warmth and character.
Originally conceived as a writing accessory, it now works beautifully as:
– a desk object
– a collector’s piece
– a library accent
– a cabinet curiosity
A refined decorative object with strong Florentine character.
