The nahual motif dates to pre-Hispanic tradition and remains one of the most sought-after decorative elements in Mexican folk ceramics. Painted in cobalt blue, warm brown, and grey on a speckled stoneware ground with a rich tobacco glazed neck. Signed on the bottom by the maker.
